What you can do with Bamboo Digital Pen Tablets

Digital Inking

With digital inking, you can use your Bamboo pen just like you would use a normal, traditional pen. This feature can be used in all Microsoft Office programmes and is easy and versatile: Not sure about figures or numbers in Excel? Just circle the cell with the pen. There's a sentence you find awkward in Word? Simply underline it. Need to show someone how to find you? Easy, just draw a map by hand and send it directly with Outlook.
Digital Ink is available in Microsoft Office 2007.

Signature

In a world of typed E-Mails, digital documents and videoconference calls a handwritten signature is not only a welcome change, but it also adds a human touch to your communication. Make your mark by adding your own personal signature to documents and letters with a Wacom Bamboo pen tablet.

Windows Vista provides a tool named "Pen Flicks" to allow control of common actions by moving the pen in one direction. MacOS X employs gestures in Inkwell that relies on small symbols to be drawn.

And with the Touch Ring featured on certain models of Bamboo pen tablets, you can comfortably scroll through long documents and even use it to zoom in and out on pictures in certain programmes.
Navigation with the pen works in all operating systems; the scroll and zoom function of some Bamboo digital pen tablets work in Windows and MacOS X only.

Drawing and Illustrating

A picture is worth more than a thousand words in Hungary or any country. Especially when you're trying to write an e-mail in order to give someone directions - it's really much simpler and more effective to just draw a map. Painting

Photo retouching

Not only is it pressure sensitive, allowing you to vary the intensitiy of your changes, but you can use the eraser offered on the top of some pens to simply erase part of the image. You want to enhance the exposure? Just paint over the area that needs to be lightened. You need to remove red eyes? Well, that's as easy as drawing a circle.

Photo composing

You have to deal with photo composing if you - for instance - want to make a Christmas card that shows you standing in the midst of an arctic landscape. Therefore you need an image of youself, the arctic landscape and - preferably - a Christmas tree. In order to combine those elements into a new image you need to cut out your image and the Christmas tree, before you paste it into the background. Cutting elements is easy with the Bamboo pen: Just follow the outlines with your pen and the image has been precisely extracted. Add in hand drawn snowflakes and maybe some handwritten text and you'll have a personal picture.
Apart from photo retouching applications, there are plenty of specific software packages such as Arcsoft Photo Greeting Card, Arcsoft Funhouse, Arcsoft Scrapbook Creator or Arcsoft PhotoMontage that enable you to easily create photo compositions .
